Lynne Brick elected to the IHRSA (International Health Racquet & Sportsclub Association) Board of Directors for 2007 (May 2006)

At its annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, IHRSA (International Health Racquet & Sportclub Association) elected Lynne Brick to its Board of Directors for 2007. As a member of the Board of Directors, Lynne will help set the direction and focus for the health club industry's leading association.

Lynne Brick and her husband Victor Brick are the founders and owners of Brick Bodies Fitness Services, Inc. Brick Bodies operates three coed health clubs operating under the Brick Bodies name and two women-only health clubs operating under the Lynne Brick's name in the greater Baltimore area as well as two Brick Bodies franchises in upstate New York, and a large multi-sport tennis facility in Orlando, Florida operating under the name of the Orlando Fitness and Racquet Club. They also are the Mid-Atlantic agents for Les Mills International, the largest distributor of choreographed group exercise classes in the world.

Lynne is an international fitness consultant and considered one of the foremost group exercise instructors in the world. She has appeared in a dozen exercise videos, including Buns of Steel 6. She has presented master classes, workshops, motivational speeches and presentation in over 25 countries. Recognized for her expertise and advocacy through numerous awards including the 1990 "Fitness Instructor of the Year", by IDEA, The Association for Fitness Professionals and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award in 2004, she has been appointed by Governor Robert Ehrlich to the Maryland Commission for Women. She is a member of the Maryland Top 100 Circle of Excellence, having been named three times as one of Maryland's top 100 women. Lynne also provides continuing education with her certification by the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the American Council on Exercise (ACE).

IHRSA was founded in 1986 and now has 26,830 health clubs as members. IHRSA's mission is to grow, protect and promote the health and fitness industry, and to provide its members with benefits that will help them be more successful.
