Studies have shown that effective employee wellness programs can decrease health care costs, increase productivity, reduce absenteeism and enhance employee recruitment and retention efforts. At a time when employers pay $2,500-$5,000 per employee, per year on health care and up to 58% of a company's profits are spent on health care benefits, the need to invest in the health and wellbeing of employees is greater than ever.
Under Sheffield's direction, Brick Bodies will expand their current health and wellness programs for the employees of their corporate clients. Programs will include on-site fitness classes, health seminars, access to Brick Bodies Fitness Centers, health risk assessments, smoking cessation and a variety of wellness services in line with company needs and interests. These results-oriented programs with reduce individual health risks and focus on healthy behaviors for the prevention of chronic disease and illness.
"Not only do improved levels of fitness improve productivity but it can reduce absenteeism by 8 to 10 business days a year! That's up to two weeks!" says Sheffield. "If you don't make time for fitness you will have to make time for illness!"
