This year’s race will benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation, a cause that’s very close to all of our hearts. In the fall of 2012, we lost a teammate to non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and our goal to honor her is to bring awareness to this pressing cause and to help raise money to support its research.
For this race to be successful, not only for the Johns Hopkins Track & Field teams, but for the Lymphoma Research Foundation as well, we are asking for your support! The team is looking for people or groups who are interested in sponsoring this event and hope that you will consider doing so. Donations can be anything from sponsorships to simple monetary gifts or prizes, such as gift certificates or food. Any and all contributions are much appreciated. These donations will help us put on a great road race and attract more race participants to subsequently raise more awareness for Lymphoma. Our hope this year is to have over 500 participants and raise over $10,000 for Lymphoma research.

- Crohn's and Colitis Team Challenge
When: July 12, 2014
I am participating in this exciting experience through a program known as Team Challenge. Team Challenge is the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s endurance training program. This exciting fundraising program trains you to run or walk a half marathon while helping the Foundation raise funds to find a cure for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. I chose this program because I was diagnosed with Crohn’s almost 2 years ago. My weight has fluctuated over the past several years, but wanted to make a change. I started back at the gym a year ago, but seriously started working out 4 months ago and that is where I started to see progress. I said I would never be a runner and here I am running several days a week 4 months after dedicating myself to getting fit and healthy. I wanted a new challenge to push myself and found Team Challenge for The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. This foundation means a lot to me with myself having Crohn’s and other family and friends having Crohn’s and Colitis. I want to help find that cure to help myself, my family, friends and millions of other people in my same situation.
