In Loving Memory of Vicki Brick-Zupancic

A LEGACY REMEMBERED

Victoria Lynne “Vicki” Brick-Zupancic, 43, passed away from ovarian cancer at her parents’ home in Baltimore on the morning of April 8, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on July 30, 1981, in Towson, Maryland, Vicki lived a life defined by passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved.

From an early age, Vicki stood out as a gifted athlete and natural leader. She attended McDonogh High School, where she distinguished herself as a standout student-athlete. She was a 4-time Baltimore Sun Basketball All-Metro First Team selection, two-time All-Metro Player of the Year and the Maryland Gatorade Women’s Basketball Player of the Year. Her senior year she led McDonogh to 44 consecutive victories and a #25 National Ranking in USA Today. Her exceptional basketball skills earned her a basketball scholarship to the University of Maryland, where she continued to shine on the court. As team captain during her senior year of 2003-2004, she helped lead the Terps to the NCAA Tournament and Coach Brenda Frese’s first tournament victory at Maryland. She was also a four-time first team member of the All-ACC Academic Team. Vicki led with both heart and determination—qualities that would define her throughout her life.

After college, Vicki’s basketball journey took her across the globe. She played professionally in Australia and for the Philippines National Team before returning home to join the family health club business, Brick Bodies, in 2007. In 2013 she was named CEO of Brick Bodies, where she brought innovation and vision to the fitness industry. In 2015 her leadership earned her recognition as one of Maryland’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Baltimore Business Journal and in 2016 she was named as one of Maryland’s Top 50 Most Influential People by the Daily Record. Internationally respected for her contributions to health and wellness, Vicki was known not only for her business acumen but also for her ability to inspire others through action and example.

Vicki’s greatest joy came from time spent with her family. She was the beloved wife of Evan T. Zupancic and the cherished mother of Jordan A. Zupancic. Her bond with Jordan was profound—rooted in love, laughter, and shared passions for tennis, basketball, and dancing. Vicki’s devotion to her daughter was unmatched; their connection remains eternal.

She was the devoted daughter of Victor and Lynne Brick and the loving sister of Jonathan A. Brick. Vicki was the dear granddaughter of John C. and Lourdes G. Brick. She was also the dear granddaughter of Tony and Cecelia Grandi. Her extended family includes her father- and mother-in-law Jim and Marla Zupancic; siblings-in-law Christian Zupancic, Marisa Rockwood, Amber Albin, and Emily Vierra; along with many other relatives and friends who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Vicki embraced life fully—whether working out under the sun, exploring new restaurants and wineries with Evan, or traveling the world in search of new experiences. Her energy was contagious; her smile could light up any room.

A woman of deep faith, Vicki found spiritual grounding in the Catholic Church. Christmas and Easter at the Church of Nativity held special meaning for her—a time of reflection and renewal that resonated deeply with her spirit.

In recent years, Vicki became a passionate advocate for ovarian cancer awareness. Drawing strength from personal experience, she encouraged women everywhere to listen to their bodies and speak up about early symptoms. Her advocacy reflected her enduring commitment to empowering others—especially women leaders—and inspiring future generations.

Vicki’s legacy is one of courage, compassion, and boundless love. Her presence was larger than life—her passion unmistakable—and she made every person feel seen and valued. Vicki’s strength lives on in those who knew her best—especially in Jordan’s heart where it will remain forever bound.  May her memory continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. In lieu of flowers, the family will appreciate memorial contributions to the Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance.
